Why LEDs?

The short answer is: Low Power and Long Life.

LEDs produce bright light and very little heat. This makes them very efficient as light sources. Most LEDs have expected life spans of over 100,000 hours. This translates to a low maintenance cost. Today they come in a variety of colors, making them suitable for a number of applications from the purely informational display all the way up to streaming video.
